FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are online bachelor's degrees the same quality as those offered on-site?
The online bachelor’s degree programs offered by the NYU School of Professional Studies Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies are the same degrees we offer in our classrooms on the NYU Campus. They are taught live, online so you have the benefit of interacting much in the same way you would if you were here at NYU.
Will I receive an NYU degree upon completion of this program?
Upon successful completion of your studies and all degree requirements, you will receive a degree from New York University. You can even attend the School’s Convocation and the University’s Commencement ceremonies in New York City!
What type of online learning support is provided?
Many forms of online learning support are provided to students. For example, students can schedule video meetings with their faculty mentors and advisers, engage in online tutoring sessions, and seek assistance when facing circumstances that are posing challenges to their ability to succeed in their classes.
Why must I have earned at least 24 college credits to enter this program?
The reason why we request that you have earned at least 24 college credits is because these degree completion programs are not meant for students who are applying for college directly out of high school. Having earned some college credit indicates that you have an understanding of college-level learning and what will be expected of you as a college student.
How many transfer credits will be accepted for this program?
The number of transfer credits accepted will vary for these programs based upon how they align with our degree programs. In situations where we have an articulation agreement with the institution you are currently attending or have attended, there are prescribed numbers of credits that will transfer over. We want to make the transfer credit process as seamless as possible and will work with you to make sure you receive the maximum number of credits.
What types of financial aid and scholarships are available?
The same financial aid and scholarship programs that are available to students in our on-site programs are available to students in our online degree completion programs. You will need to submit a FAFSA form to ensure that you are considered for financial aid. Please view our guidelines for more information.
