Global Events & Speaker Series

PALA is a hub of professional outreach and discovery that includes annual media talks featuring authors and publishing leaders; an ongoing series of interviews with industry leaders across disciplines; global executive education programs and conferences; and industry visits and global volunteer opportunities at book fairs and conferences.

Entry-Level and Advanced Programs in Publishing

World-Renowned Summer Publishing Institute
For nearly 45 years, The NYU Summer Publishing Institute (SPI) has provided an invaluable introduction to book publishing and digital/magazine media for recent college graduates, rising college seniors, and early professionals. Students earn graduate credit and can matriculate into the MS in Publishing with advanced standing.

NYU Advanced Publishing Institute
The NYU Advanced Publishing Institute (NYU API) is an exciting executive education course designed for mid to senior-level publishing professionals interested in the latest strategies and business practices in book publishing. This five-day program reimagines the highly popular Yale Publishing Course, which ran from 2010 to 2019. NYU API will run on-campus at NYU from January 6-10, 2025.
